RENT-TO-OWN PROCESS
Engagement Session
An information session will be carried out on affordable housing and the rent-to-own program where full details will be shared with those selected. The site location, the drafted plans of homes, the cost of project and the funders. These will be on a continuous basis throughout project.
Provided applications to be filled out in person, and/or by email. The rent to own application, Equifax and TransUnion forms were given to each applicant.
The application deadline set for all documentation to be provided within 60 days
Review & verification of Information on Applicants
The review committee was identified, and verification of information provided on application.
- 2 Years of Tax Assessments
- Confirmation of current Employment for the past 2 years
- Confirmation on previous rental history, by providing Landlord reference letter for past 10 years.
- Bank Statement showing us that rent has been paid.
- Applicants will be provided a form to request a credit report from Equifax & Transunion
- Confirmation of Indigenous ancestry (Treaty Card, Metis or Inuit ID Card)
Selections by Committee & Approved by the Board
- All documentation is reviewed by an independent selection committee.
- The process is based on what was submitted by each applicant.
- Applicants will be notified if approved once a decision has been made.
- Introductory Engagement Session to program
